Installing the Player

Samsung Tizen Player

Samsung commercial displays (also called Samsung Business Displays or SSP displays) run Tizen OS and use a dedicated player app.

Compatible displays

The Tizen player works with Samsung commercial display series including:

  • QH, QM, QE, QB series
  • PMF, PMH series
  • Any display labelled "Samsung Smart Signage"

It does not work on Samsung consumer TVs.

What you need

  • The Samsung display powered on
  • The display connected to the internet
  • The .wgt player package file (provided by your administrator)
  • A USB stick

Installing the player

Step 1 — Copy the file to a USB stick

  1. Get the player file (it ends in .wgt) from your administrator.
  2. Copy it to the root folder of a USB stick (not inside any folder).
  3. Rename the file to signage.wgt if it has a different name.

Step 2 — Insert the USB stick into the display

  1. Insert the USB stick into the USB port on the Samsung display.
  2. The display may automatically detect the file and ask if you want to install it — click Yes.

If the display does not auto-detect:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote.
  2. Go to URL Launcher Settings or App → Install from USB.
  3. Select the .wgt file and confirm.

Step 3 — Launch the player

  1. Press Home on the remote.
  2. Open the installed Digital Signage app.
  3. The pairing code appears on screen.

Setting the app to launch on startup

  1. Press Home on the remote.
  2. Go to Settings → System → Auto Source Switching → set to On.
  3. Go to Settings → General → System Manager → Auto Run URL Launcher → set to On.

The player will now start automatically every time the display powers on.

Troubleshooting
