Installing the Player
Web Player (Browser)
Run the player in any modern browser on a computer, Raspberry Pi, or Android device.
The web player runs in any modern browser. It is the easiest option and works on:
- Windows or Mac computers
- Raspberry Pi
- Android TV boxes
- Any device with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
Option A — Open in a browser (simplest)
- Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on the screen device.
- Go to your player URL (provided by your administrator).
- Press F11 to enter full-screen mode.
- The pairing code appears on screen — follow the Connecting a Screen guide to finish setup.
To make Chrome start automatically on boot, your administrator can configure it as a kiosk (see Option B).
Option B — Chrome kiosk mode (recommended for permanent installations)
Kiosk mode launches Chrome full-screen on startup with no browser controls visible.
Windows
- Right-click the Chrome shortcut → Properties.
- In the Target field, add at the end:
--kiosk https://your-player-url - Move the shortcut to the Windows Startup folder:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup - Restart the PC — Chrome opens automatically in full-screen kiosk mode.
Raspberry Pi (Raspberry Pi OS)
- Install Chromium if not already installed:
sudo apt install chromium-browser - Edit the autostart file:
nano ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart - Add this line at the bottom:
@chromium-browser --kiosk --noerrdialogs --disable-infobars https://your-player-url - Save and reboot — the player opens automatically on boot.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Black screen after loading | Check the player URL is correct and the server is reachable |
| Pairing code does not appear | Refresh the page; check internet connection |
| Screen goes to sleep | Disable sleep/screensaver in the operating system display settings |
| Browser shows address bar | Make sure you are using kiosk mode (F11 or --kiosk flag) |
Installing the Player
Every physical screen needs a player app installed to connect it to your dashboard. The player is a small piece of software that runs on the screen and receives content from the cloud.
Samsung Tizen Player
Samsung commercial displays (also called Samsung Business Displays or SSP displays) run Tizen OS and use a dedicated player app.
